The 9th edition of the Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts is here, thanks to the patronage of the Foundation.

Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts stands for great music and musical wisdom shared by the most renowned performers and creators.

The series, made possible thanks to the Foundation’s patronage, reaches its ninth edition this year. As always, it is a highly anticipated meeting point between the students of the Liceu Conservatory and the great international maestros, in addition to being a major event for music lovers in Barcelona.

The season opened with a performance by soprano Elena Pankratova, who visited the city to play the role of the princess in the opera Turandot, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Liceu Cambra Masterclasses & Concerts will offer a total of 23 masterclasses and 5 concerts until May 2024. This year, the series will be featuring some of the most outstanding wind instrument performers, such as Jacques Zoon, Marc Geujon and Guillhaume Santana, some of whom are already old acquaintances of the Liceu Cambra. Leading figures in the world of strings such as Salvatore Accardo or the exceptional soloists of the Berlin Philharmonic: cellist Ludwig Quandt, violinist Daniel Stabrawa, violinist Walter Küssner and double bassist Matthew McDonald will also visit the Conservatory to offer their expert insight into performance, in what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the Liceu Cambra’s ninth edition.

Ensemble music always has a very special place in the Liceu Cambra‘s program, this year with the presence of the world-class Cuarteto Latinoamericano.

As in every edition, along with the masterclasses, concerts of great interest will be held at the Auditorium of the Liceu Conservatory, one of the best venues of its kind in Barcelona and an ideal place to enjoy the music of the great masters to the fullest. In addition to the concert by the Cuarteto Latinoamerico, the Kaimerata, led by Professor Kai Gleusteen, will also be performing.

Finally, opera will also take center stage at the Liceu Cambra with a top-level professional production of a major work by Mozart: La Clemenza di Tito, performed by the students of the master’s degree in Opera Performance under the musical direction of Diego Martín, stage direction by Susana Egea and artistic direction by Luciana Serra.
