Javier Quislant García, winner of the XL Reina Sofia Prize for Musical Composition

Last Saturday, 25th February 2023, the Jury of the 40th Queen Sofia Prize for Music Composition, consisting of Yann Robin, Sergio Blardony, Nuria Núñez Hierro, Jesús Rueda and chaired by Philippe Hurel met. This Prize is called every year by the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation. It has a value of 100,000 €.

After analyzing thoroughly all the scores taking part in the contest, they agreed to award the Queen Sofia Prize for Music Composition 2022 to the piece “Unda maris” by the composer Javier Quislant García.

The winning work will be presented and performed for the first time by the Spanish Radiotelevision Symphonic Orchestra on the 13th of October 2023 at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid in the presence of the Queen Sophia and the President of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation, Sergi Ferrer-Salat.
